Information

My grandfather had converted an old garage in his backyard into a woodworking shop where he would build us toys and furniture.

I remember as a boy the cold sunday mornings spent as an apprentice to his craftmanship, taking notice of an armory of tools and their designed use. Learning to respect the workshop as a place of sanctity, the alliance between man and material. To understand a tool as an extension of self and not as a form of weaponry. To be a maker, to be a nurturer.

FromTheWorkshop is both a reflection and homage to the time I would spend with my grandfather in his workshop. The lessons learned, the lessons carried as that boy became a man of his own.

The meditation, method and art of creation.
